Alibocus experiments with familiar objects and shapes, incorporating them into a conceptual visual language, which draws on experiences both intimately personal, while at the same time, universal. Everyday objects are the focus of her curiosity. paper, pens and notebooks address wider themes of documenting, list making and diarying the everyday.

 

Playful elements from childhood emerge as origami shapes; paper planes, boats and fortunetellers, explored through materials such as fabric, wax, paper and concrete. Minimised to form, fold and line, they attempt to connect the child’s world of imagination and possibility with the adults world of repetition, plan and design.
